Matthew was born and raised and is a local of the Wetaskiwin area where he completed his high school.

After earning an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from NAIT, Matthew pursued his Juris Doctor at Murray Fraser Hall, U of C and upon completion, promptly joined the Sirrs' team in May of 2024.

Alongside his studies, Matthew volunteered with Calgary Youth Justice Committees and Pro Bono Students Canada, working on youth-oriented projects as well as provided legal assistance through the university’s Student Legal Assistance clinic. His commitment to volunteering further extends to coaching high school football.

Beyond work, Matthew embraces mountain adventures—hiking, snowboarding, and camping. Recently, he experienced surfing during a trip to Mexico, was hooked immediately and now plans to explore surf destinations worldwide, starting with Costa Rica.
